It's time again for some coed Savage at 7,000 feet.
For those of you who have never played in this event it is a 5-2 coed
Savage format. At the beginning of each game you choose the seven players
that will valiantly represent your team and they must play the entire
game, straight to 7 points. This year we continue to use roster caps.
So please limit your number of players to ten or less.

If you've never seen the Southwest, this is the perfect opportunity
to combine your favorite sport with a taste of salsa. Join us
in the festivities!
The captains' meeting is scheduled for 9:30am and pool play will begin
at 10am.
Note that I have included directions to the fields via the new By-Pass
that skirts the west edge of town. If you are coming from the north,
this is the fastest way to get to the fields, but you won't pass
any gas stations or supermarkets so make sure you've got supplies.
Here are the other pertinent details:
Pool games will be played to 7 points (no cap), no substitutions are
allowed during a game except for injuries.
You can have a maximum of ten players on your roster.
As in the past, I expect there to be many pool games for each team.
It will be very important to record your scores for each game so that
an accurate seeding can be done for the final rounds.
Format: The official format is 5 men and 2 women. This format can be
altered at the beginning of each game with the mutual consent of both
captains. If a team refuses to field at least two women, they must play
with less than seven players or forfeit the game.
"New Pull Rule": We will be playing with the new pull rule since it
will probably be offered to captains in the Fall Series. That means
a pull that lands in the endzone must be played where it lands.
A pull that is caught in the endzone must be played where it is caught.
If the disc rolls out the side or back of the endzone, the offense must
bring the disc to the goal line at that point nearest to where the disc
rolled out of the endzone.
Injuries: There is one male and one female injury sub allowed per team
per game.
The opposing team may also sub a player of the same sex during an injury
time out without losing their own time out. If additional injuries occur,
the team in question is obligated to play with LESS THAN seven players.
An exception is made if the additional injuries are caused by an opposing
player. (If the captains do not like this rule, they should discuss
some alternative at the beginning of each game. If no discussion is
made before the game begins, then
the original rule is in effect.)
CONES
We will probably need some, so please bring a set if you can!

Camping is available on Hyde Park Rd. (also called Artist Rd. for the
first mile or so) which is the road to the Ski Basin. I can send directions
if interested. There is also a KOA [(505) 466-1419] roughly 30 minutes
from the fields. Camping is not allowed on the soccer fields.
DOGS
If you bring dogs we request that you leave them tied up in the parking
area. Dogs will not be allowed on the fields. Be aware that there is
not much shade at the fields so plan accordingly.
